LG in Blackhawk kitchens.

Blackhawk is our next-door neighbor. From San Ramon we come up Crow Canyon Road and through the gate in about 15 minutes, and we know the drill with the guard house and vendor lists at both the Country Club and the Falls entrances. Homes here were built with big kitchens, and a lot of them now run 36-inch LG French doors after the original built-ins aged out, plus LG laundry pairs upstairs.

The honest part first. LG linear compressors from the 2014 to 2019 build years failed in numbers, LG paid out a settlement over it, and I still replace those compressors regularly. When your LG French door runs constantly but the box will not get cold, and the compressor never builds pressure, that is the failure. I confirm it with gauges instead of guessing.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

No-cool linear compressor failure after a hot Tassajara summer. Blackhawk garages and outdoor kitchens get hot, and heat is what finishes a weak linear compressor. A 2017 LMXS30776 that limps through spring often dies in the first July heat wave. I test pressures, replace the compressor with the current design, pull vacuum, and charge by weight, and the sealed-system work is covered by my EPA 608 certification.
Er FF evaporator fan icing in the freezer section. The Er FF code on LG bottom-freezer units means the evaporator fan is blocked by ice, usually from a torn gasket or a defrost drain plugged with debris. In Blackhawk I see it on units near hot garages where the door gasket works overtime. I clear the ice, fix the root cause, and check the defrost circuit so it does not come back in a month.
LG dryer heating failures in upstairs laundry rooms. Long vent runs from second-floor Blackhawk laundry rooms make LG dryers cycle their thermal cutoffs until the heater assembly or the cutoff fuse fails. I replace the failed parts and measure the actual vent back-pressure, because putting a new heater on a choked vent just schedules the next failure.
