- Profile dishwasher stops with an LE code. On GDP and PDT series Profile dishwashers, the recirculation pump seal starts to seep. Water collects in the base pan, lifts the float switch, and the control shuts everything down with LE. We replace the pump, dry the base pan, clear the code and run a full cycle while watching for drips.
- Fresh-food side warm while the freezer holds. On a Profile refrigerator this usually traces to a failed defrost heater. Frost packs the evaporator and blocks the air that feeds the fresh-food section. We test the heater and its thermostat for continuity, replace the failed part, and melt out the ice before the fridge goes back to work.
- GE washer throwing F45 and quitting mid-spin. F45 reads as an unbalance fault, but on GE laundry it often comes from cracked solder joints on the control board rather than a lopsided load. We inspect the board, re-flow the joints when that is the only damage, and replace the board when it is not.

Spotting can come and go as the hardness moves. Keep the rinse aid topped up and set a little higher, and clean the filter at the bottom of the tub. If white crust builds at the fill valve, we check it at the diagnostic. -
Do you repair base-model GE dishwashers, or only Profile?
Only Profile and up. The GDP and PDT series are worth repairing, and the pump seal job above is a common fix on them. On a base-tier GE dishwasher the repair rarely beats a new machine, so we do not take those on. -
Our 1980s house has a GE fridge squeezed into the original cabinet opening. Does that matter?
