Water and ice systems

The water inlet valve, a common fridge leak.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

What we close on the truck.

F1 lockout from a worn lid actuator. Same story as everywhere the double DishDrawer lives: around year five the actuator stops seating the lid, F1 flashes, and the cycle will not begin. For Richmond calls I bring the actuator on the first visit whenever the phone symptoms point that way, so the long drive pays off in one trip.
Drain pump fouled by hard-water scale. Richmond's water leaves mineral crust on the DishDrawer drain impeller and check valve, and the unit starts holding water at cycle end. Descaling the assembly works when caught early. A pump that ran seized for weeks needs replacement, and I meter it to tell you which case you are in.
Evaporator fan noise in integrated fridges. Marina Bay condo fridges show up with a cyclic buzz or chirp behind the rear panel, then warm milk a week later. The evaporator fan bearing is going. In a small condo kitchen the noise is impossible to ignore, and the fix is a fan motor swap once I confirm it is not an icing problem instead.
