The wash motor is the part that fails most in the older installs, since those units have the most years of daily cycles on them. In the newer builds we see more ActiveSmart evaporator fan calls, since those fridges are still within their first real decade of use.
Our Peninsula-based technician, working out of San Mateo County, covers East Palo Alto on the same swing as Palo Alto and Menlo Park, so this call does not sit behind a San Ramon trip.

- DishDrawer wash motor failure. The motor runs hot on the brushed rotor design and eventually loses power. You hear a hum instead of a spray, and dishes come out with water pooled in the drawer bottom.
- ActiveSmart French-door evap fan motor. A rattle or buzz from behind the freezer back panel points to the evaporator fan motor going out. It is sealed, so the fix is a full assembly swap rather than a rebuild.
- Gas cooktop ignitor harness. One burner clicks without lighting, or lights on a delay. The ignitor harness wears at the connector from heat cycling, and we replace the whole harness rather than patch it.
