Daikin in Mountain View
Daikin heating and cooling in Mountain View.
Mountain View has two very different housing stories. The flat neighborhoods near Cuesta Park are full of Eichlers and post-war homes with radiant slabs and no ductwork at all, and those owners go ductless because Daikin mini-splits are the cleanest way to cool a slab house. Downtown and along El Camino there is newer multi-family and condo stock that often came with Daikin heat pumps from the builder.
We are a Daikin authorized servicer and I trained on the inverter line at the factory. Mountain View sits close to the bay, so the climate is mild but the morning marine layer keeps things damp, and the indoor heads here run their dehumidify and low-speed modes a lot. That changes which parts wear first.
ADRIUM runs HVAC through Bay Area HVAC Service out of San Ramon. The $75 diagnostic is waived with the repair, every quote is written, and we are available 7 days a week.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Mini-split head failures in ductless Eichlers. Eichler owners cool the whole house off a couple of wall heads, so those units run long hours. The blower wheel loads up with dust off the flat roof vents and the head loses airflow and starts to ice. I pull and clean the wheel and barrel, then check the indoor thermistors.
- Builder heat pump P-code sensor faults in newer condos. On the downtown Daikin systems we see thermistor and pressure-sensor faults that throw a P or H code. These are usually a sensor drifting out of range, not the compressor. I read the actual resistance against Daikin's table and swap only the sensor that is lying.
- Inverter PCB faults from condensation in damp installs. The marine moisture finds its way into outdoor units that were not sealed well, and the inverter board corrodes at the terminals. I inspect the board and the gland seals, and reseal the cabinet so the replacement does not fail the same way.

FAQ
Daikin in Mountain View questions, answered.
-
How long does it take you to get to Mountain View from San Ramon?
From San Ramon down 680 and across 237 or the Dumbarton side, Mountain View is about 40 to 50 minutes depending on the bridge traffic. We also cover Los Altos, Sunnyvale, Menlo Park, and Palo Alto, so we group these Peninsula trips. -
Can a Daikin mini-split actually cool a whole Eichler with no ducts?
Yes, and that is one of the main reasons people here choose them. We size the heads to the open Eichler floor plan and the radiant slab, and we service them the same way. Long run hours just mean the blower needs cleaning more often. -
My new condo's Daikin throws a P code. Is the compressor failing?
Usually not. A P-code on these systems is most often a sensor reading out of range. We measure the thermistor or pressure sensor against the factory spec and replace just that part rather than the whole compressor.
