The board logs a lockout fault. I verify the igniter resistance is in spec before ordering the part, because a board fault code alone does not always point to the igniter. Replacement takes roughly 30 minutes and the furnace is back on the same visit.
Flame sensor carboned over, short-cycle lockout. This is probably the most common Comfortmaker furnace call I run in Livermore. The flame sensor builds up a carbon layer over a few seasons of use, the microamp signal drops below what the board will accept, and the burner lights briefly then shuts down.
