Carrier in Dublin
Carrier heating and cooling in Dublin.
Dublin has grown fast, and the housing shows it. East Dublin is full of newer 2000s and 2010s tract and semi-custom homes, while West Dublin holds the older established neighborhoods. The town is inland and hot in summer, so cooling load is significant, and the newer homes often came with two-stage or Infinity Carrier systems and some zoning.
In the newer East Dublin homes the systems are relatively young, so the repairs tend to be control faults, condensate issues, and the occasional ECM blower rather than worn-out mechanical parts. In the older West Dublin homes we see aging single-stage Carrier equipment with the usual capacitor, contactor, and fan motor failures that come with age and heat.
Carrier and Bryant are the same equipment, so we read either badge the same. Parts are available and the build is reliable. The Infinity communicating boards and variable-speed modules are the expensive parts on the newer systems, so I confirm the actual fault on the meter before quoting, and on a young system I look hard for a cheaper root cause first.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Condensate drain and float switch trips on newer systems. Newer Dublin Carrier systems shut down when the condensate drain clogs and the safety float switch trips, which reads as a no-cool with no obvious equipment fault. We clear the primary and secondary drains, test the float, and check the pan so a slow clog does not keep tripping the system.
- ECM blower module on staged air handlers. The variable-speed ECM blower module on a Dublin Infinity air handler fails and airflow drops or stops. On a hot day the house warms quickly. The module is a real cost, so I verify the motor and the control signal and rule out a wiring fault before I replace it.
- Capacitor and contactor on older West Dublin condensers. Older single-stage Carrier condensers in West Dublin lose a run capacitor or pit a contactor and will not start on hot afternoons. These are inexpensive parts and a fast fix. We confirm the readings on the meter and usually replace them the same visit.

FAQ
Carrier in Dublin questions, answered.
-
How close is Dublin to your San Ramon base?
Very close. Dublin sits right next to San Ramon, with Pleasanton and Livermore nearby. It is one of our quickest routes, so Dublin scheduling is easy and there is no extra trip charge. -
My newer AC just stopped cooling with no warning. What happened?
On a newer Dublin Carrier system that is often a clogged condensate drain tripping the safety float switch, which shuts the system down to prevent water damage. We clear the drain, test the float, and confirm it stays running. It is a common, low-cost fix. -
My house is only a few years old. Could it really need a major repair?
Usually not. On young systems we look for the simple cause first, a drain clog, a loose wire, a tripped switch, before anything expensive. If it is a genuine board or module failure, we confirm it on the meter and give you the written quote before any work.
