The call I get most in Union City is the grinder. The built-in burr grinder on the Oracle binds up or dumps the wrong dose, and the whole shot falls apart because the coffee never lands right. What we repair on the bench.

Grinder binding or dosing wrong (Oracle). This is the most common Breville job in Union City. The conical burr grinder jams when a bean stone lodges in the burrs, or it doses light when the adjustment collar and motor drift over the years. I strip the burr chamber, clear the chute, inspect the burrs for a worn edge, check the grind motor and gear, and reset the dose so your extraction has a chance again. Worn burrs get shown to you and quoted as a set rather than papered over with grind settings.
Pump running but pressure gone. When a Breville pump hums but the shot barely trickles or comes out flat, the issue is usually the over-pressure valve, a tired vibration pump, or a solenoid stuck partway. I put the machine on a gauge to see the actual brew pressure, isolate which part is failing, and replace it. This is a bench test, not a guess, and it keeps you from buying a whole machine over one valve.
Scale buildup slowing the machine. A Breville that has gone years without a proper descale will slow down as scale narrows the boiler passages and gums the valve, and the descale reminder keeps returning no matter how many home cycles you run. We do a deeper descale and flush, clear the solenoid, and confirm flow and pressure are back to spec so the scale is actually cleared and not just reset out of view.
