The useful engineering fact: the 800 Series and Benchmark share the same recirculation pump and drain pump as the 500 Series. When a pump bearing gets noisy or the drain pump starts grinding, the customer hears it before any error code shows, and the part that fixes it is the same across the range. That keeps Bosch repairs predictable and usually single-visit.

Warm fridge side, frost behind the freezer panel. A frozen drain line lets ice build into the evaporator fan blades, and the fridge side warms while the freezer still reads cold. In Burlingame units I trace it to a blocked drain tube or a failed drain heater. I clear the drain, swap the heater if it tests open, and verify the fan, because defrosting without repair just delays the callback.
Drain pump grinding or humming, glass and debris damage. The BLDC drain pump on 300 through Benchmark models is the same part, and a shard of glass past the filter will chew the impeller. You hear grinding at the end of cycle, then standing water. I clear the sump and check valve, replace the pump when the impeller is damaged, and check the filter assembly your household is actually using.
No heat or long cycles, heat pump assembly failure. Bosch integrates the heater into the circulation pump housing, and when the heating circuit fails you get clean-looking but cold dishes, poor drying, and stretched cycle times, sometimes with an E09 code. I confirm element resistance and control output before replacing the heat pump assembly, since a relay on the control board can mimic the same fault.
