The outdoor inverter drive board controls compressor speed and is the heart of the system. When it fails, the compressor simply does not run. We confirm the fault code, check DC bus voltage and IPM module outputs before condemning the board. Boards are not factory-stocked locally, so we are honest upfront about lead time on out-of-warranty parts.
Thermistor or Discharge Line Sensor Failure. Bosch IDS units use multiple thermistors to protect the inverter compressor, including suction, discharge, and ambient sensors. A failed discharge thermistor will usually lock out the system with a high-temperature protection fault even when actual operating pressures are normal. We see this on units that have been running for several years, especially if the sensor wire harness has been exposed to weather at the condenser cabinet.
