Bohn unit cooler service

The Bohn unit cooler inside a walk-in is one part of a refrigeration system. Its fans, coil and defrost equipment work with a condensing unit and controls that may carry different names. Send both equipment plates when you can reach them safely; the enclosure brand alone does not identify the refrigeration circuit.

Ice and airflow

An iced coil, a stopped fan and a drain problem require different checks. Describe where the ice is concentrated and whether it returns after a defrost. The technician inspects the unit cooler, drain and controls rather than treating all ice as a low-refrigerant symptom.

Ice on insulated piping or at a wall opening also needs a separate inspection. Its location helps distinguish a cabinet or insulation problem from ice accumulating on the evaporator itself. Keep staff clear of hanging ice and leave electrical covers closed.

Preparing for the visit

Make room below the evaporator and tell us how the condensing unit is accessed. Keep controller alarms and temperature records, including the times when the box warmed up. A short video taken from a safe position can help document an intermittent fan noise.

The diagnostic is $99 per visit, including additional units diagnosed during that visit, and is credited toward the repair. Repair work starts after you approve the written price.
