Two failure modes carry most of the Berkeley calls. Door gaskets on the reach-ins stretch inside the first year or two under cafe-volume opening, and once warm air gets in the box ices over within a couple of weeks. The prep tables clog at the condensate drain line from grease and crumbs falling through from the rail above. Both are R290 propane platforms, so the sealed-system side needs a hydrocarbon-licensed tech. Most general shops aren't, which is why a unit sits down for a week waiting on someone who can't legally open it.

- MBF reach-in door gasket and defrost. Stretched gasket lets warm air in and the evap ices over. Replace gasket, clear the ice, verify the door seals across the full sweep.
- MGF prep-table drain-line clog. Condensate tube clogs with grease and food debris and water pools under the unit. Pull and blow out the line, add an inline screen where the kitchen allows.
- Evaporator fan motor swap. Common reach-in fail point. We carry two sizes on the truck, so it's usually a one-visit fix.
- R290 sealed-system diagnosis. Propane refrigerant work needs the hydrocarbon license. We weigh in, find the leak, and document it.

The after-hours line, (925) 999-4095, is for exactly that. From San Ramon we're 40 to 55 minutes to Berkeley off-peak. On a routed Inner-East-Bay day we can often get same or next-day. You get a written arrival window before we leave. -
My last guy said he couldn't get parts for my Atosa. Is that real?
Usually it means he couldn't legally open it. Atosa runs R290 propane refrigerant, and you need a hydrocarbon refrigerant license to service the sealed system. We're licensed and trained for it. Atosa parts supply has also gotten reliable over the last few years.
