  • Start relay and capacitor failure. The PTC start relay on Atosa compressors is a common wear item. The tell is a click every few minutes with no compressor start, sometimes a faint hum first. It is a fast, inexpensive fix if caught early. Left alone, repeated locked-rotor starts cook the compressor windings, and that turns a small repair into a replacement conversation.
