A Z-Line oven that burns the bottom of a tray at one setting and underbakes at another usually has a failing temperature sensor. The sensor tells the control what the oven is doing, and as it drifts the control chases the wrong number. We measure the sensor's resistance against a thermometer reading, replace it if it has drifted, and recalibrate the oven afterward. The control board is rarely the first answer, and a new range almost never is.

Common repairs we handle.
- Oven temperature swinging away from the setting. We run the oven at two settings with a thermometer in the cavity, measure the sensor hot and cold, and check its wiring and connector. A drifted sensor is replaced and the oven recalibrated so the display and the cavity agree.
- Convection fan rattling once the oven is hot. A rattle or grind that starts only after the cavity heats up points to the convection fan motor bearing or a blade touching its shroud. We check both and replace the motor before a seized fan does more damage.
- Refrigerator gasket that no longer seals. Sweat on the door edge or frost inside means warm air is getting past the seal. We check the hinges and door alignment first, then the gasket, and order the seal to the correct part number for a standard or a panel-ready door.

Can a new sensor really fix an oven that bakes badly?
Often, yes. A drifted sensor makes the oven overshoot or fall short, and the result looks like a bad oven. After replacing it we recalibrate and check the temperature with a thermometer, so you can see the difference before we leave. -
Can you recalibrate our Z-Line oven without replacing anything?
Sometimes. On models with a calibration setting, if the sensor tests within spec and the oven is only a little off, an offset in the control brings it back in line. If the sensor has drifted beyond that, we replace it and then calibrate.
