Salt air off the ocean is the thing that makes Coastside repair different from anywhere else on our list. What we close on the truck.
- Burner igniter electrodes and spark module. Salt air corrodes the igniter electrodes and fouls the spark module faster on the coast than anywhere else we work. A burner that used to click and light now clicks weak or not at all. I check continuity on the module before replacing anything, since sometimes it's just the electrode gap opened up from corrosion, not a dead module.
- Hood exterior vent hardware corrosion. The exterior wall cap and damper hardware on a range hood take the worst of the salt air, and screws and dampers seize or rust through years before they would inland. If the hood seems weak, I check the exterior vent path before I ever touch the blower motor, since a stuck damper reads the same as a weak fan.
- Broiler ignitor and upper thermocouple. On Pro and Autograph ranges near the coast, salt air adds to the normal wear on the broiler ignitor and thermocouple, so the pair tends to go out earlier here than inland. Oven still bakes fine, broiler won't fire. I carry both parts and replace them together in one visit.

Do you actually cover Montara, Moss Beach and El Granada, or just Half Moon Bay itself?
All of it. Our Peninsula technician Sam covers the full Coastside, Montara through El Granada and down to Half Moon Bay, as one route. We don't promise same-day given the drive out on Highway 1, but it's a regular part of his week, not a special trip. -
Why do my appliance parts seem to fail faster out here than they did before I moved to the coast?
Salt air is genuinely harder on metal parts, especially anything with exposed contacts or hardware outside the cabinet like igniter electrodes, spark modules and hood vent dampers. It's not a defect in your unit, it's the environment. I flag the coastal wear pattern on the written quote so you know why a part is going early. -
