The infrared broiler on a Z-Line Autograph Edition or Pro Series range runs hot, and that heat wears two parts together: the broiler ignitor and the upper thermocouple. The symptom is easy to spot. The broiler will not light, the oven still bakes fine, and older non-digital models show no fault code. We replace the ignitor and thermocouple as a kit and bench-test the gas valve micro-switch before we close the range up.
Our technician is based right here in Benicia, and ADRIUM is authorized service for Z-Line. If your range is still under the manufacturer's warranty, we file the claim with Z-Line ourselves. If it is not, the $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair and you get a written quote before any work. We work in houses across the Eastside, Southampton and the West Side, and in the older homes near First Street.
Common repairs we handle.
- Broiler ignitor and upper thermocouple kit. When the broiler stays dark but bake works, we test the ignitor's draw and the thermocouple's output, then check the gas valve micro-switch. Both heat-worn parts are replaced together, since the second one usually follows the first. We finish with a full broil to confirm light-off.
- Range hood speed buttons that stop responding. Grease works in through the seam of the capacitive touch pad on Z-Line professional hoods, and the speed buttons go intermittent. We clean and re-seal the pad first. The board is replaced only if the touch sensors test dead. The blower motor behind it rarely needs replacing.
- Ice maker that makes little or nothing. Benicia's water is moderately hard and changes with the source, so the fill valve and the fill tube get checked first. If water arrives and the ice maker still does not harvest, the ice-maker assembly is replaced and run through a test cycle.

Why do the broiler ignitor and thermocouple get replaced together?
They sit in the same hot zone and wear at a similar rate. Replacing only the failed one usually means a second visit soon after for the other. Doing both at once costs less overall, and you see the full parts list in writing first. -
Can one visit cover both our Z-Line range and the matching hood?
Yes. If the hood's buttons are sticking or the blower is noisy, mention it when you book, and our technician looks at both while there. Each fault gets its own line on the written quote. -
Can we keep using the oven while the broiler is out?
Yes. Bake runs on its own burner and ignitor, so the oven keeps working while the broiler waits for parts. If you smell gas at any point, turn the range off at its valve and air the room before anything else.
