Other times the primary air path is blocked, or the range was converted for propane and later reconnected to natural gas with the wrong orifices left in. We check the gas type against the orifices before chasing anything electronic.

- Yellow flames and soot on a burner cap. We seat the cap properly, clean the venturi tube and the primary air path, and check the flame for an even blue pattern all the way around. If the orifices do not match the gas supply, we replace them with the correct set and retest every burner.
- Burner that clicks but will not light. Clicking with no flame points to a blocked burner port, a cracked igniter or a wet spark electrode. We dry and clean the burner, check the spark gap and the igniter for cracks, and replace a part only when cleaning does not bring the flame back.
- Dual-fuel oven baking unevenly. Pale on one side, dark on the other. We check the convection fan and its motor, the bake element and the RTD sensor, and look at the door gasket for gaps that let heat escape. The fix is whichever part tests bad.

We bought our Wolf range used. Can you check it is set up for natural gas?
Yes. Wolf sizes the orifices for natural gas or propane, and a range moved between houses sometimes keeps the wrong set. We read the rating plate, check the orifices and the regulator, and convert it properly if it is set up for the wrong gas. -
Can we still use the oven while a burner problem gets sorted out?
On a dual-fuel range the oven is electric, so a burner fault on top usually leaves it working. If any burner smells of gas or burns with a tall yellow flame, turn it off and leave it off until it has been checked. -
Do you work in apartments and row houses too, not just single-family homes?
Yes. Tenants and owners can both book. If the range belongs to the landlord, have them approve the written quote, and tell us about parking and any building access when you call.
