- Burners that spark nonstop. Let the rangetop dry for a few hours with the burners off. If the clicking continues, we test each igniter and its wire, find the one grounding out, and replace that igniter, or the spark module if the module itself has failed.
- Oven slow to preheat on an all-gas range. The oven takes far longer than it used to, or cycles cold mid-bake. A weak hot-surface ignitor opens the safety valve late or not at all. We measure the ignitor current, replace it if it has dropped below spec, and time a full preheat.
- Ragged flame after a boil-over. If one burner burns ragged or leaves soot after a pot boils over, the ports and the venturi are usually fouled. We clean them, re-seat the cap and check the flame. Only a burner that still misbehaves gets new parts.
