The broiler works but the bake won't light on our Wolf. Same problem?

Probably a different part. On an all-gas Wolf, bake and broil have separate burners and ignitors, so a working broiler with a cold bake points to the bake ignitor. We test both and replace only the one that failed.

Can you work around the custom cabinetry from our remodel?

Yes. A range built into custom cabinets comes out slowly, on a protected floor, with the anti-tip bracket released first. If the range is trimmed in tight, tell us when you book so our technician plans for it.

Our Wolf induction cooktop shows an error after heavy cooking. Is the board bad?

Rarely. A cooling fan under the cooktop pulls air across the heat sink, and when the intake clogs with dust the electronics run hot and throw a code. We pull the unit, vacuum the fan and the heat sink, and check temperatures with a probe before closing it up.

When the oven on a Wolf all-gas range will not bake, the hot-surface ignitor is the first part we test. As it ages it cracks or loses resistance, the oven safety valve never gets the current it needs to open, and the oven stays cold while the burners on top work normally. It looks like a dead gas valve and usually is not. We read the ignitor's current draw with a meter and replace it when it reads weak.

Our technician is based right here in Benicia. A large share of the town's houses date from the 1970s to the 1990s, so a Wolf range in one of them most likely came in with a later remodel and sits in cabinetry built around it. Common repairs we handle.

Oven on a GR all-gas range that will not light. The burners work and the oven does not. We watch the ignitor glow, measure its current draw, and check the safety valve and the wiring before naming a part. A weak ignitor is the usual answer and a part we usually carry. After the swap we time the light-off through a full bake.
Burner cap sitting crooked and sooting. A ragged, uneven flame and black soot on the cap look like a failing spark module. Often the cap was just seated wrong after cleaning. We re-seat it, clean the venturi tube, and check that the flame burns even all the way around before looking at anything electrical.
Warming drawer that no longer holds heat. Plates stay cool and food never warms through. The thermostat is the usual culprit, and it is an inexpensive part. We test the element and the thermostat, replace what failed, and check that the drawer holds its setting before we leave.
