The burner and pilot rust, the flame turns ragged, and the pilot may go out in wet weather. We check the vent top, clean or replace the rusted burner parts, and quote a new cap if the old one is gone.
- Wall thermostat no longer calling for heat. An old wall thermostat with worn contacts, or a wire loosened inside the wall, stops sending the call. The pilot is lit and the furnace is fine, but nothing happens. We test at the thermostat and at the valve, then clean, repair or replace the thermostat.
