What we close on the truck.
- Pilot will not stay lit after release. On the older Williams gravity wall units this is almost always a weak thermocouple. The millivolt drops below the holding range and the gas valve closes. I test the output cold and hot, then replace the thermocouple and clean the pilot orifice.
- Burner lights then drops out in minutes. In the salt air near the shoreline the pilot tubing and orifice corrode. The flame gets lazy and the safety drops the burner. We clean or replace the pilot assembly and recheck flame signal so it holds steady.
- Wall furnace not igniting at all. On the newer Williams Monterey models with electronic ignition, a failed igniter or control module is common. We confirm spark and gas valve operation, then replace the module and verify a clean light-off.
