Most of the Milpitas houses I work on were built between the 1970s and the early 2000s, so the Trane equipment I see runs from old XR furnaces up to the newer XV variable-speed heat pumps in the McCarthy Ranch builds. Condensate drain backups in furnace closets. Plenty of Milpitas furnaces sit in tight interior closets with a long condensate run. The drain clogs with algae and the safety switch shuts the unit down. I clear the line, flush it, and check the float switch so it does not nuisance-trip in the middle of summer.
