Sub-Zero in Santa Clara

Sub-Zero in Santa Clara kitchens.

Santa Clara's mid-century ranch homes have been remodeling in waves for twenty years, and the kitchens that came out of those projects lean heavily on Sub-Zero: BI-42 and BI-48 built-ins in the neighborhoods around the university and Central Park, and a noticeable number of 427 wine storage units in homes near the golf course. The valley's hot summers put the same seasonal stress on them that they put on the AC.

ADRIUM Service Solutions is run by its owner, Andrew Kuznetsov, from San Ramon. I am EPA Section 608 Universal certified for sealed system repairs and licensed under CSLB #1136642. Every job begins with a written quote, the $75 diagnostic is waived when the repair goes ahead, repairs carry a one year parts and labor warranty, and we book 7 days a week.

Santa Clara is the far end of my South Bay route, so I schedule it deliberately and arrive stocked. Tell me the model and the symptom when you call and there is a good chance the fix happens in a single visit.

What the work looks like

A built-in sealed-system leak repair.

Nitrogen pressure and a soap-bubble test on a built-in fridge line set. We map every leak source before we braze.
The corroded copper up close. After fifteen-plus years this is why a real fix rebuilds the sealed run, so you do not pay the labor twice.
ADRIUM technician brazing a copper refrigerant line onto a compressor with a torch during a sealed-system repair
Brazing a new line onto the compressor during the same kind of sealed-system repair. Recover, braze, evacuate, and recharge: the real fix, done as one complete job.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • BI-48SD condenser fan wearing out in hot summers. The condenser fan on BI series units logs a lot of hours through Santa Clara summers, and a worn motor shows up as a hot kitchen grille, longer run times, and eventually an over-temperature complaint. I replace the motor, deep clean the coil while the grille area is open, and verify head pressure comes back down where it belongs.
  • 427 wine storage losing zone control. The two-zone 427 fails politely: one zone drifts a few degrees and owners notice corked bottles before they notice the display. The usual suspects are a zone thermistor or the damper assembly between zones, and occasionally the control board. I test in that order because that is also cheapest-first, and with wine on the line I re-verify both zones over a full cycle before closing up.
  • Sealed system leaks on 700 series drawer units. The 700 series refrigerator drawers built into Santa Clara islands and butler pantries develop evaporator leaks with age. Capacity is small, so even a minor loss of charge shows up fast as warm drawers. I leak test, repair, evacuate, and recharge under my 608 certification, and I check the door drawer seals that often contributed to the workload.

FAQ

Sub-Zero in Santa Clara questions, answered.

  • What is the drive time from San Ramon to Santa Clara?
About 45 minutes down 680 in decent traffic. I treat Santa Clara as a planned stop on my South Bay route with San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Cupertino, so you get a firm scheduled window rather than a vague all-day promise. We schedule 7 days a week.
  • Do you service Sub-Zero wine storage units or only refrigerators?
Both. Wine units like the 427 and 424 share the same refrigeration fundamentals with tighter temperature expectations, and I service them regularly. The same terms apply: written quote, $75 diagnostic waived with repair, one year warranty on the work.
  • Can one visit cover two units in the same house?
Yes, and it is efficient for both of us. If your built-in and your wine unit both need attention, I diagnose both in the same visit and you get one written quote covering each repair separately, so you can approve either or both.
