Speed Queen in Foster City
Speed Queen in Foster City kitchens.
Foster City was built on reclaimed bay fill starting in the 1960s, lagoons and levees and all, and that fill settles unevenly over the decades in a way solid ground doesn't. A lot of the condos and townhomes here develop a slight floor tilt that most people never notice, until a Speed Queen washer starts walking or throwing an unbalanced-load code that wasn't there when it was installed.
Inside those same condos and townhomes, laundry closets run tight and the Speed Queen FF front-loader fits where a top-loader sometimes can't. We re-level and check the suspension on these units more often here than in a single-family San Ramon home, simply because the floor underneath has shifted a little since the machine went in.

FAQ
Speed Queen in Foster City questions, answered.
-
Foster City is tucked in behind the lagoons, do you actually make it out here?
Yes, our Peninsula technician based in San Mateo covers Foster City as a normal stop, not a special trip. -
My washer suddenly started walking across the closet floor. Is the machine broken?
Not necessarily. On Foster City's fill-settled floors that's often just the machine needing to be re-leveled, sometimes with a suspension check. We fix that before we ever talk about a bigger repair. -
Do you work on the front-loaders that fit these smaller condo closets?
Yes, the FF front-load models are common in Foster City's condos and townhomes.
