Speed Queen in Alamo
Speed Queen in Alamo kitchens.
Alamo is one of the easiest calls on my board. Most of the Speed Queen machines I see here live in laundry rooms off the garage in ranch homes along Danville Boulevard, or in the bigger properties up toward Round Hill and Stone Valley Road. These are households that run laundry hard: sports uniforms, dog bedding, and in a few properties off Livorna Road, actual horse blankets. That is exactly the workload a TC5 or TR7 was built for, and it is why the owner picked Speed Queen in the first place.
The typical Alamo story goes like this. A high-efficiency front loader died at year six, the homeowner read about commercial-grade construction, and bought the top loader with the metal transmission. Ten or twelve years later a belt stretches or a pump jams and they call us. I would rather fix that machine than sell anyone a new one. A Speed Queen with a fresh drive belt and a clean pump has a lot of life left.
We are ADRIUM Service Solutions, based in San Ramon, CSLB #1136642. The diagnostic is $75 and we waive it when you approve the repair. You get a written quote before I open my parts case, and every repair carries a one year warranty.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- TC5 drive belt stretch and slip. The TC5 uses a classic belt-driven transmission, and after years of heavy Alamo family loads the belt glazes and slips. The symptom is a washer that fills and drains fine but agitates weakly or spins slow, sometimes with a faint rubber smell. A new belt and a pulley inspection is a same-visit fix, and I check the motor mount plate while I am in there.
- Drain pump jammed by coins and hoof pick debris. Speed Queen pumps are tough, but they still eat whatever lives in pockets. On the larger Alamo properties I have pulled coins, screws, and once a hoof pick fragment out of a pump housing. The machine hums at drain, then times out. The pump on these models is serviceable, so often I clear it rather than replace it, which keeps the bill down.
- Lid lock assembly failure on TC5 and TR7. When the washer fills but never starts agitating, or the lid lock light blinks, the lock assembly is the usual suspect. It is a known wear point on both the TC5 and TR7. I carry the lock assembly on the van for exactly this call, because it is one of the most common Speed Queen tickets in the 680 corridor.

FAQ
Speed Queen in Alamo questions, answered.
-
How fast can you get to Alamo from San Ramon?
Alamo is about 15 minutes up I-680 from our base, one of our shortest runs. We route Alamo together with Danville, Walnut Creek, and Lafayette, so there is usually a slot the same day or next morning. We work 7 days. -
My Speed Queen is 14 years old. Is it still worth repairing?
Usually yes, and that is not a sales line. The transmission and frame on these machines outlast the wear parts around them. If the gearcase and tub bearing are healthy, a belt, pump, or valve repair buys you years. If I find bearing or transmission damage that makes repair a bad deal, the written quote will say so plainly. -
Do you charge for the visit if I go ahead with the repair?
No. The diagnostic is $75, and we waive it when you approve the repair. You get a written quote first, and the repair itself is covered by a one year warranty on parts and labor.
