- TC5 drive belt stretch and slip. The TC5 uses a classic belt-driven transmission, and after years of heavy Alamo family loads the belt glazes and slips. The symptom is a washer that fills and drains fine but agitates weakly or spins slow, sometimes with a faint rubber smell. A new belt and a pulley inspection is a common repair, and I check the motor mount plate while I am in there.
- Drain pump jammed by coins and hoof pick debris. Speed Queen pumps are tough, but they still eat whatever lives in pockets. On the larger Alamo properties I have pulled coins, screws, and once a hoof pick fragment out of a pump housing. The machine hums at drain, then times out. The pump on these models is serviceable, so often I clear it rather than replace it, which keeps the bill down.
