Samsung in Redwood City

Samsung in Redwood City kitchens.

Redwood City is the county seat, and the skyline around the courthouse and the downtown theatre district has filled in with new condo towers over the past decade. Those units run mainstream brands, Samsung heavy among them, while the Emerald Hills estates up in the hills lean toward the higher end names. Both ends of that spread call us.

In the downtown buildings I mostly see evaporator fan motor failures on the French door fridges, the unit runs warm, frost builds up on the back panel, and the fan gets noisy before it quits outright. Up in Emerald Hills, the range self-clean cycle is the recurring issue, it overheats the control area and trips a thermal fuse that leaves the whole range dead.

Every visit starts with a $99 diagnostic, waived if you move forward with the repair, and the quote is written before parts get ordered. We are open 7 days a week. Redwood City sits on a Peninsula route for us, so it does not wait behind East Bay jobs.

Water and ice systems

The water inlet valve, a common fridge leak.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

Laundry

How to spot a bad washer drain pump.

LG and Samsung washer drain pumps side by side. When a washer will not drain or hums at the end of a cycle, this small pump is the usual suspect, and the two brands fail in different ways.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Evaporator fan motor failure. Fridge runs warm, frost builds on the interior back panel, and the fan gets loud before it stops. One-visit motor swap once I confirm the compressor itself is fine.
  • Washer control board or door lock fault. The cycle stalls or throws a door lock error partway through. Sometimes it is the lock switch, sometimes the board itself, and I test both before quoting the more expensive part.
  • Range self-clean thermal fuse trip. Running the self-clean cycle overheats the control area and trips the thermal fuse, and the range goes dead afterward. I test the fuse and the control board separately since replacing the wrong one wastes a visit.

FAQ

Samsung in Redwood City questions, answered.

  • Do you cover Redwood City the same as Redwood Shores or just downtown?
The whole city, downtown, Redwood Shores, Emerald Hills, all of it. We keep a technician based on the Peninsula, so Redwood City stays inside a normal route instead of a special trip.
  • What is the cost just to find out what is wrong?
The visit is $99 flat. If you move forward with the repair, that amount is credited back, and you see it all in writing beforehand.
  • My washer stops mid-cycle with a door error. Is that expensive to fix?
Not usually. Most of the time it is the door lock switch, a cheaper part than the control board. I test which one failed before quoting you, rather than replacing both to be safe.
