Hot-surface ignitor cracks. The silicon-nitride ignitor on the garage furnace gets brittle and cracks, so the burner will not light. I install the correct ignitor and run the full ignition sequence to confirm it fires.
Draft-inducer motor noise. The inducer bearings wear and the motor gets loud, then the furnace locks out on a pressure-switch error. I swap the inducer assembly from the truck and recheck the draft before I leave.
