A drifted probe in the upper zone can slowly cook a collection at 68 degrees without tripping any alarm, so if your reds compartment reads odd, have it checked before summer. Repairs carry a 1-year parts and labor warranty.
- Undercounter cabinets short cycling in tight Big Basin Way kitchens. The village restaurant kitchens are narrow, and undercounter Perlick cabinets get shoved back until the front grille is blocked by a mat or a speed rail. The unit recirculates its own hot discharge air, head pressure climbs, and the compressor short cycles on its overload. Line cooks report it as the box being warm at the start of dinner service. We clean the coil, restore the airflow path, and check start relay and capacitor, since repeated overload trips eat those parts.

How long does it take you to get to Saratoga from San Ramon?
Saratoga is one of our longer runs, about 50 minutes down 680 and across on 85 in normal traffic. We route it with Los Gatos, Los Altos Hills, and Palo Alto, so we usually schedule Saratoga on a day the truck is already working that corridor. For a restaurant with product at risk we move it up. Tell us what the cabinet temperature is doing when you call and we will triage honestly. -
My Perlick is built into custom cabinetry. Can you service it in place?
Usually yes. Perlick designed the Signature Series to service from the front, and most coil cleanings, fan replacements, and control repairs happen without pulling the unit. If it does need to come out of a panel-ready surround, we take our time with the cabinetry. I would rather add twenty minutes to the job than scratch a built-in kitchen. -
Is it worth repairing a ten-year-old Perlick or should I replace it?
These are commercial-grade machines and a ten-year-old one with a bad fan motor or control board is normally worth fixing. You get a written quote after the $75 diagnostic, which is waived if you go ahead with the repair, so you can compare the repair number against a replacement before deciding. If replacement wins, our installation carries a 10-year parts and 10-year labor warranty.
