Main Street runs a small, steady cluster of restaurants, and Pillar Point Harbor keeps its own set of seafood restaurants and bars running Perlick back-bar coolers and direct-draw beer systems for the fishing and tourist trade.

Salt air is the thing that makes Coastside work different from anywhere else we cover. The condenser fins on a Perlick unit corrode faster this close to the ocean, and I see electrical contacts and contactors pitting years before they would inland. A unit that looks fine on the outside can already have a compromised coil or a failing contactor, so I check for corrosion on every Coastside call, not just when something's already broken.

Montara, Moss Beach, and El Granada run smaller operations, cafes, small inns, and a handful of restaurants, without Half Moon Bay's concentration but often sitting even closer to the water, so the corrosion problem is if anything further along there. Pillar Point Harbor restaurants run direct-draw systems hard through the weekend tourist trade, and a foamy pour usually traces back to trunk line insulation that's broken down, worse here because the same salt air that eats a coil also degrades the line insulation faster. I test the whole beer path and replace what the coast has worn out.
Back-bar door gasket and hinge swollen from harbor humidity. Coastal humidity swells wood cabinetry around a back-bar cooler more than it would a few miles inland, and a door that no longer sits flush lets warm, humid air into the cabinet. The evaporator ices, the unit short-cycles, and the fix starts with the gasket and hinge alignment, not the sealed system.
