The Monogram problem I get called for most in this part of the East Bay is electronic. The main control board and the interface board run the compressor, the dampers, and the display, and a board that is starting to fail shows odd behavior before it quits. A fresh-food section that drifts warm while the freezer holds fine, a display that resets on its own, fans that spin at the wrong time. I test the board with the sensor inputs live so I can tell a real board fault from a bad reading feeding it. When a board is confirmed, I source the correct revision for your model rather than a generic substitute, since Monogram changed board versions across production years and the wrong one will not talk to the unit.
Thermistors and temperature sensors. A Monogram fridge that cools unevenly or cycles the compressor at strange times often has a drifting temperature sensor, not a dead compressor. These sensors are cheap parts that cause expensive-looking symptoms. I meter each thermistor against its resistance chart at a known temperature, confirm the reading the board is acting on, and replace only the ones that are out of spec.
Sealed-system rebuilds on column refrigerators. When a Monogram column or side-by-side loses cooling because of a refrigerant leak or a tired compressor, the sealed system can be rebuilt. On this brand that is worth doing. The cabinet, the interior, and the door hardware are built to outlast the mechanical parts. I recover, braze in the repair, draw the system into a deep vacuum, and set the charge to the plate spec with 608-rated gauges.
