Mitsubishi in San Jose

Mitsubishi heating and cooling in San Jose.

San Jose is huge and varied, the 1920s Willow Glen bungalows, the Naglee Park older homes, and the big postwar tracts in Almaden, Berryessa, and Evergreen. The older neighborhoods often lack ducts and take single-zone Mitsubishi heads, while larger homes run multi-zone. The valley floor here gets hot summer afternoons, so cooling capacity matters more than in the bay-front towns.

We service Mitsubishi Electric M-Series and MXZ multi-zone across San Jose. With this many systems out there, the failures cover the full range, but they are still local component faults more often than not, which is why the fault code matters.

I read the Mitsubishi code before touching anything, and on a multi-zone a dead head is that head's board or sensor first. We completed Mitsubishi factory training, hold EPA 608 Universal and CSLB licensing, give written quotes, and waive the $75 diagnostic with the repair.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Coil fouling and high-pressure faults in valley heat. San Jose valley-floor condensers pull a lot of dust and pollen, and a fouled coil drives head pressure up until the M-Series faults on hot afternoons. I clean the coil and check the charge so it holds cooling through the summer peak.
  • Willow Glen bungalow head short-cycling. In small Willow Glen bungalows, an oversized single-zone head short-cycles and never dehumidifies well. I match the head capacity to the actual room load and tune the charge so it runs longer, more even cycles.
  • Multi-zone dead zone on an Almaden home. On the larger Almaden and Evergreen multi-zone systems, one head going dead while the others run is that head's indoor board or room sensor. I confirm with the code at the head rather than condemning the outdoor unit.

FAQ

Mitsubishi in San Jose questions, answered.

  • How long is the drive from San Ramon to San Jose?
San Jose is one of our longer runs. From San Ramon we go down the 680, usually 45 to 60 minutes depending on traffic and which part of the city you are in. If you are near Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Saratoga, or Los Gatos we route the same way and try to group the trip.
  • Will a Mitsubishi keep up with San Jose summer heat?
Yes, when it is sized and charged correctly. The valley floor gets hot, so we size the head to the real room load and keep the outdoor coil clean. A properly set M-Series carries full cooling through the hot afternoons.
  • Do you waive the diagnostic with the repair?
Yes. The $75 diagnostic is waived when you approve the repair, and you get a written quote before any parts go in.
