Mitsubishi in Mountain View
Mitsubishi heating and cooling in Mountain View.
Mountain View has a real mix, the small 1920s bungalows in Old Mountain View, the flat-roof Eichlers near Cuesta, and a lot of mid-century homes that never had decent ducting. Eichlers in particular are perfect ductless candidates because the slab and flat roof leave nowhere good to run ductwork, so Mitsubishi mini-splits get mounted on the walls instead.
We service Mitsubishi Electric ductless across Mountain View, both M-Series single zones and MXZ multi-zone. The bay-moderated climate keeps the load light most of the year, so when one of these systems acts up it is usually a specific component, not the whole machine being overworked.
I diagnose by the Mitsubishi fault code, and on a multi-zone a single dead head points to that head's board or sensor first. We completed Mitsubishi factory training and hold EPA 608 Universal and CSLB licensing. The $75 diagnostic is waived with the repair and the quote is written before work begins.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Eichler wall head not cooling, E6 communication code. In the Eichlers around Cuesta, the exposed lineset and longer wire runs make the S1-S2-S3 connection a weak point, and an E6 code drops the head. I trace the comm wiring end to end before condemning a board, since the fault is usually a loose terminal.
- Compressor short-cycling on a single-zone M-Series. A bungalow M-Series that clicks on and off every few minutes is usually low on charge or has a stuck linear expansion valve. I pull the operating data over the fault history and correct the charge or replace the LEV instead of guessing.
- Indoor blower whine or vibration. Older Mountain View installs collect dust on the cross-flow blower wheel, which throws it out of balance and makes the head buzz. I pull and clean the wheel and check the bearing, which quiets it without a full head swap.

FAQ
Mitsubishi in Mountain View questions, answered.
-
How long is the drive from San Ramon to Mountain View?
Mountain View is one of our longer runs. From San Ramon we go down the 680 and across, roughly 45 to 60 minutes depending on the bridge and 101 traffic. If you are over toward Los Altos, Sunnyvale, Menlo Park, or Palo Alto we route the same way and try to group the trip. -
Will a Mitsubishi mini-split work in my Eichler without cutting up the flat roof?
Yes, that is the main reason Eichler owners pick ductless. The heads mount on the walls and the lineset runs outside to the condenser, so we do not open the flat roof or the slab. We size a multi-zone if you want more than one room covered. -
Is the diagnostic fee waived if I move forward?
Yes. The diagnostic is $75 and we waive it when you approve the repair. You see a written quote before anything is replaced.
