- Maxima and MHW control board and door lock. Washer locks mid-cycle and won't release the door, or the cycle just stops. I check the door lock assembly first since it fails more often than the board itself.
- Bravos lid switch and gearbox bearing. Lid switch first on older machines, no start on a click. Gearbox bearing and spider next if the machine has logged years of heavy use and starts howling on spin.
- French-door icemaker motor and compressor relay. Icemaker bin stops filling: usually the auger motor. Fridge won't cool at all: I check the compressor start relay before condemning the compressor itself.
