KitchenAid in Richmond

KitchenAid in Richmond kitchens.

Richmond's kitchens tell the city's story. Point Richmond has early-1900s homes where remodels tucked KitchenAid built-ins behind period cabinet fronts. Marina Bay brought waves of 1990s and 2000s condos with builder KitchenAid packages that are now hitting the age where pumps, boards, and fans give out. The Annex and the North and East neighborhoods add a solid stock of family homes with hard-working French doors and dishwashers. We cover all of it from San Ramon.

Bay-side condos add a wrinkle: marine air. Condenser coils and electrical contacts age faster within a few blocks of the water, and I adjust the diagnosis for it. KitchenAid's shared platform with Whirlpool, Maytag, and Amana means the underlying components are known quantities, so the work goes to finding which one the salt air got to first.

ADRIUM Service Solutions is run by Andrew Kuznetsov out of San Ramon. EPA Section 608 Universal certified, CSLB #1136642, written quotes before any repair, $75 diagnostic waived with approved work, 7 days a week.

What the work looks like

A built-in sealed-system leak repair.

Nitrogen pressure and a soap-bubble test on a built-in fridge line set. We map every leak source before we braze.
The corroded copper up close. After fifteen-plus years this is why a real fix rebuilds the sealed run, so you do not pay the labor twice.
ADRIUM technician brazing a copper refrigerant line onto a compressor with a torch during a sealed-system repair
Brazing a new line onto the compressor during the same kind of sealed-system repair. Recover, braze, evacuate, and recharge: the real fix, done as one complete job.

What the work looks like

A dishwasher leaking from the pump and sump.

The base of a Whirlpool-family dishwasher, where the circulation pump, sump, and diverter live. A worn pump seal, a cracked sump, or the diverter lets water past and onto the floor.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Older KitchenAid built-in cooling poorly on one side. The KSSC and KSSO-era 42-inch built-ins found in Point Richmond remodels split cooling between compartments, and uneven temperatures usually mean an evaporator problem on one circuit: iced coil, dead fan, or a damper stuck half-open. These cabinets were built to be serviced and are usually worth saving. I open the specific circuit, confirm the failure with a meter and a thermometer, and give a written verdict on fixing versus retiring the unit.
  • Dishwasher tripping the GFCI in an older kitchen. Richmond's older homes often have dishwashers on retrofitted GFCI circuits, and a KitchenAid that trips it has current leaking somewhere: a heating element with a hairline crack, moisture in the junction box, or a compromised wire against the frame. I meter leakage to ground component by component. Replacing the element on spec is the lazy version; finding the actual leak path is the repair.
  • French door refrigerator leaking water onto the floor every few days. A puddle in front of a KitchenAid French door on a repeating schedule is the defrost drain frozen or clogged, so meltwater overflows the channel and finds the floor. The Whirlpool-platform fix is well established: clear the drain, install the improved drain grommet, and verify the heater reaches the drain area. Twenty minutes of correct work stops a leak that can quietly ruin flooring.

FAQ

KitchenAid in Richmond questions, answered.

  • Richmond is a long way from San Ramon. How do you make the scheduling work?
It is our longest regular run, about 45 to 50 minutes out through the Caldecott and up past the Berkeley and Oakland edge on 580 or 80. We make it work by batching: Richmond calls get grouped with Berkeley and Oakland stops on set route days. You get a firm window on a scheduled day rather than a vague promise, and we hold it.
  • Is a service call worth it for a condo-grade KitchenAid dishwasher?
Usually yes. The builder-package KitchenAid dishwashers in Marina Bay are the same stainless-tub platform as the retail units, and a pump or seal repair buys years. The $75 diagnostic gives you the real number, it is waived if you proceed, and I will say plainly when replacement is the smarter spend.
  • Do you do sealed system repairs on site?
Yes. I am EPA Section 608 Universal certified, so refrigerant diagnosis and sealed system work on KitchenAid built-ins and freestanding units happens legally and in-house. No third-party sub, no declining the hard jobs.
