Linear compressor failure on 795-series French doors. LG-built Kenmore Elite French doors from roughly 2014 to 2019 have a known linear compressor weak point. The unit runs constantly but never gets cold. I am EPA 608 certified for sealed system work, and I give you a straight cost comparison between a compressor job and replacement before you commit.
In-door ice maker freezing up. The door-mounted ice maker on Elite French doors relies on a duct that carries cold air from the freezer up into the door. When the duct seal fails or the ice room sensor drifts, ice production drops or the tray freezes into a block. It is a fixable problem and much cheaper than people fear.
Evaporator fan seized behind the freezer panel. A loud buzz that stops when the door opens, followed by warm fresh food, points at the evaporator fan. On Atherton guest house units that sit lightly used for months, the motor bearings dry out and seize. Panel off, motor tested, replaced with the correct manufacturer part.
