- GE Café range oven not reaching temperature. Café dual fuel and gas ranges are the signature appliance in Piedmont remodels, and the common complaint is an oven that preheats forever or bakes uneven. On gas models it is the oven igniter drawing weak, measurable with an ammeter in minutes. On dual fuel it is often a relay on the control board. Both are single-visit repairs with parts I keep stocked.
- GE counter-depth refrigerator condenser and airflow problems. Counter-depth boxes shoehorned into old cabinetry run hot because the remodel left minimal clearance. I see GE PYE22 and CYE22 units in Piedmont with packed condensers and tired condenser fans, which shows up as a fridge that runs constantly and slowly loses cooling. Cleaning and a fan swap fixes it, and I advise on clearance so it does not come back.

How long does it take you to reach Piedmont from San Ramon?
About 35 minutes through the Caldecott on Highway 24. Piedmont sits on our Inner East Bay route with Oakland, Berkeley, and Orinda, which we run frequently, so appointments here come up fast. Street parking on the narrow avenues is the slowest part of the trip. -
My kitchen has original cabinetry. Will removal damage it?
This is exactly why I do these jobs myself instead of sending whoever is free. Built-ins and slide-ins come out with panel protection and patience. If a unit genuinely cannot be serviced in place without cabinet work, I tell you before touching anything, and it goes in the written quote. -
