I clean or replace the corroded terminals and reseal the box better than the factory gasket manages on its own out here.
- Slow refrigerant leak at the flare where copper meets the aluminum coil stub. Copper line set against an aluminum coil stub sets up a mild galvanic reaction that salt air speeds up, and it shows up as a flare fitting that will not hold a leak check no matter how many times it gets tightened. I remake the flare with fresh material and, where it makes sense, add a dielectric fitting to slow the corrosion down.
