A converted room or addition running its own Cooper&Hunter head for years eventually sees the indoor coil thermistor drift out of calibration, and that shows up as the unit cycling on and off without settling on the set temperature. It reads like a bigger problem than it is. I confirm it with a meter and it's usually a straightforward sensor swap.
Flare leak on a line set through an older wall. San Mateo's older craftsman homes often route the line set through a wall cavity that wasn't built with that in mind, and the extra bend needed to clear framing puts stress on the flare joint over time. I reflare to spec, pressure test, evacuate, and recharge to the nameplate weight.
