Bryant in Piedmont

Bryant heating and cooling in Piedmont.

Piedmont is a small town of older, substantial homes, Tudor, Mediterranean, and Colonial revivals from the 1910s through the 1930s, many on sloped lots and built before central air. These homes often have original gravity heat or old wall furnaces, and owners add Bryant systems carefully to preserve the architecture. Multi-zone Bryant Evolution setups are common in the larger ones.

Surrounded entirely by Oakland, Piedmont shares its mild bay-moderated climate, so the heating load matters more than cooling, though many owners now add a Bryant heat pump for both. The older construction means tight chases and plaster walls, so retrofits take a careful hand. We run Piedmont HVAC through Bay Area HVAC Service.

ADRIUM is San Ramon based, EPA 608 Universal certified, CSLB 1136642, and A2L certified for R-454B. The $75 diagnostic is waived with the repair and every quote is written.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Gravity-furnace to Bryant forced-air conversion airflow. When an old gravity furnace in a Piedmont home is replaced with a Bryant forced-air unit, the legacy ducts are often the wrong size and choke the blower. The furnace trips on high-limit. I measure static pressure and temperature rise and correct the worst restrictions so the Bryant unit runs in range.
  • Multi-zone Evolution damper and control faults. Larger Piedmont estates run Bryant Evolution over several zones. A failed damper actuator or zone sensor leaves part of the house off temperature and can cause duct noise from pressure imbalance. I test each zone and bypass before condemning the air handler or control.
  • ECM blower module failure on Evolution air handlers. The variable-speed ECM blowers in Bryant air handlers can lose the motor module while the motor is still good. You get no airflow or a blower that hunts and stops. I test module and motor separately so we replace only the failed part and not the whole assembly.

FAQ

Bryant in Piedmont questions, answered.

  • How do you route to Piedmont from your San Ramon base?
We come over to the inner East Bay, and since Piedmont is ringed by Oakland we usually approach through Oakland, with Berkeley and Orinda nearby on that side. It is a regular service area for us and we book Piedmont seven days a week.
  • I want to add a Bryant system without harming my period home. Is that possible?
Yes. We plan the duct or ductless layout to work within existing chases and closets so we do not tear up plaster or change the look. In some homes a ductless Bryant heat pump is the cleanest fit. We walk the house and give you a written quote.
  • Do you waive the diagnostic if I approve the repair?
Yes. The diagnostic is $75 and we waive it when you approve the repair, and you get a written quote up front. Repairs carry a one year warranty and a full install carries 10 year parts and 10 year labor.
