Z-Line in Lafayette
Z-Line in Lafayette kitchens.
Lafayette is close to the shop and Z-Line shows up here in the mid-range 94549 remodels. Happy Valley and Reliez Valley lean Wolf and Sub-Zero, while the Burton Valley and Trail kitchens and the rebuilds south of Mt. Diablo Boulevard tend to put in a Z-Line, often an Autograph Edition with a matching hood, when they want a pro range without the estate budget. First failure is usually the infrared broiler. The oven keeps baking but the broiler won't light, and on the non-digital ranges there's no code to point at it.
We are 25 to 30 minutes out via 680 and Lafayette is a planned-route stop most days, so the common Z-Line parts ride on the truck and we make our windows. The hood is the other steady call. People assume the blower died, but the usual culprit is the capacitive speed pad, where grease works into the seam and the buttons start dropping out. We clean and re-seal the pad first and only replace the board when the sensors are genuinely dead.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Infrared broiler ignitor and thermocouple. On Pro and Autograph 36 and 48 inch ranges. The hot infrared broiler takes both out together. We replace the pair and check the gas valve micro-switch.
- Hood capacitive touch-pad repair. Speed buttons go intermittent from grease at the seam. Clean and re-seal, replace the control board only if sensors test dead.
- Convection fan running after oven off. Dual-fuel cool-down thermistor mislocated on early runs. We install the relocation bracket and file it under Z-Line parts warranty when eligible.
- Refrigerator ice-maker and door seal. Z-Line fridges use a standard residential platform. Most calls are the ice-maker module or seal alignment, with panel-ready seals ordered to the correct part number.

FAQ
Z-Line in Lafayette questions, answered.
-
How quickly can you get to Lafayette?
Lafayette is 25 to 30 minutes from San Ramon via 680 and a planned Diablo Valley route stop most days, so we make our windows. Booked times are confirmed in writing. -
My Z-Line broiler died but the oven heats fine. Is that worth fixing?
Yes. It is the standard Z-Line broiler failure, the ignitor and upper thermocouple wearing out together. We carry the kit and fix it in one visit, which beats replacing a working range. -
Are you authorized for Z-Line?
Yes, Manufacturer-Authorized. We file warranty claims directly. In warranty we do the paperwork. Out of warranty the $75 diagnostic applies, waived when you book the repair, parts at Z-Line dealer pricing.
