- Flame sensor weak after years of cycling. The York flame sensor tells the board the burners lit. Oxide builds on it over time, the signal weakens, and the furnace lights, runs briefly and shuts down. We clean or replace the rod and measure the signal. It is one of the least expensive furnace repairs there is.
- Gas valve not opening on a call for heat. If the ignitor glows and the burners never light, the gas valve may not be opening. We confirm the board is sending voltage to the valve and the gas supply is on, then replace the valve with the correct part and set the gas pressure.
- Clogged filter choking a rental furnace. Filters get forgotten in rentals, and a clogged one chokes the whole furnace. The blower strains, the limit trips, and dust coats the blower wheel. We replace the filter, clean the wheel if needed, and leave a note of the filter size so it gets changed on time.
