Wolf in Albany
Wolf in Albany kitchens.
Albany is 1.8 square miles of compact 1920s and 1940s bungalows, and a full 36 inch Wolf range rarely fits the original kitchens along the Marin Avenue grid. Where Wolf does turn up, it's usually a 30 inch dual-fuel range dropped into a bungalow that got opened up during a remodel, or into one of the larger homes up on Albany Hill. Those installs run the same M Series burners and ignitors as anywhere else, and once they age past the 10 year mark the ignitor and sensor calls start.
Most Albany kitchens run smaller, 24 to 30 inch appliances that fit the tight floor plans, including the ADUs and basement units owners have added for extra income. A Wolf call here almost always means the household went out of its way to fit a premium range into a small footprint, and once it's in, the failures look the same as anywhere: a bake that won't fire or a burner that sparks without catching.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- M Series oven ignitor. No bake, or a broiler that lights and then quits. The hot-surface ignitor's resistance drops until the gas valve stops opening. It's carried on the truck, so this is usually one visit.
- Dual-fuel oven sensor drift. The dial says 350 but the cavity is running closer to 390, and baked goods come out done ahead of schedule. The RTD sensor has drifted. Swap and calibration check run about 30 minutes.
- Range-top burner cap and venturi. An off-center cap or a flame that's sooting the cookware. We reseat the cap, clean out the venturi, and confirm even flame across the burners. No board involved.
- Induction cooktop error codes. Dust pulled in from a tight cabinet install clogs the fan vent and heat sink under the cooktop, and the unit faults on overheat. We clean it out and check temperatures before assuming it's electronic.

FAQ
Wolf in Albany questions, answered.
-
How far is Albany from your San Ramon shop for a Wolf repair?
We tie Albany to the same Inner East Bay days as Berkeley and Richmond. From San Ramon that's 40 to 45 minutes out 580 or Highway 24 to 80, and once you have a window booked we send a written arrival time. -
My Wolf range is a 30 inch model, do you stock parts for the smaller units?
Yes, the M Series ignitor is the same part across the range sizes and it rides on the truck. For sensors or burner-specific parts we confirm the exact model before the visit so we bring the right one.
