The van carries the high-failure Whirlpool platform parts: drain pumps, shift actuators, ice makers, bake elements, thermal fuses. That covers most first visits. When a board or tub assembly has to be ordered, you get the written quote first and I return with the part, usually within a few days.

Is the diagnostic really waived?

Yes. The $75 covers my time to find the actual failure and put a firm number on the fix. Approve the repair and that $75 comes off the total. Decline it and you have paid for a straight answer about whether the machine is worth saving.

Blackhawk homes were built in a wave from the late 1980s through the 2000s, and most of them have been through at least one kitchen remodel since. That remodel usually left behind a Whirlpool or KitchenAid package: a WRX735 four-door in the kitchen, double wall ovens, and a front-load laundry pair upstairs. Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

Evaporator fan icing on WRX735 four-door models. The fridge section drifts warm while the freezer stays cold, often with a rhythmic scraping noise as the fan blade hits ice. Root cause is usually a defrost fault that lets the evaporator ice over. I test the defrost heater, bimetal, and board, clear the ice properly, and replace the failed component so it does not come back in three weeks.
Bake element and hidden-bake failures in Whirlpool wall ovens. Blackhawk kitchens love double wall ovens, and the lower oven's bake element takes the abuse. Symptoms are long preheats, uneven browning, or a breaker trip when the element shorts to the cavity. Hidden-bake designs hide the failure under a floor panel, so owners often blame the thermostat. I pull the panel, ohm the element, and swap it on the spot.
F9E1 drain faults on front-load washers. An F9E1 code means the washer could not drain in time. In Blackhawk the culprit is usually the W10730972 drain pump or a coin trap packed with debris from golf shorts and kids' pockets. I clean the trap, test the pump under load, and replace it if the impeller is worn, which turns a recurring nuisance into a closed ticket.
