The high-efficiency Rheem furnaces in Palo Alto homes clog the condensate trap in the damp coastal air, which trips the pressure switch and shuts the burners. I clear the trap and drain and confirm the inducer and switch so it stops nuisance-tripping in winter.
Rheem heat pump reversing valve sticking on all-electric homes. On the all-electric Rheem heat pumps the reversing valve solenoid sticks and the system blows cold when it should heat or the reverse. I test the solenoid coil and the valve, free or replace it, and confirm the changeover so the home gets the mode it is calling for.
