Blinking indoor unit with a communication error code. E6 and similar communication faults between the indoor head and the outdoor unit usually come down to a wiring connection corroded by marine air or a failing board on one end. We test the signal line and supply voltages first, because half of these calls in Millbrae are a $0 terminal repair, not a board.
Refrigerant leak at the flare fittings. A unit that cools weakly and ices the small line has lost charge, and on mini-splits the leak is almost always at a flare fitting that was not torqued right at install. We find it with electronic detection, remake the flare properly, and weigh in the correct R410A charge rather than topping off blind.
Indoor blower wheel fouled or drain pan backing up.
