Lennox in Palo Alto

Lennox heating and cooling in Palo Alto.

Palo Alto's housing is distinct. Old Palo Alto and Professorville hold older Craftsman and period homes, and large parts of the city are Eichlers with flat roofs, slab radiant heat and no attic for traditional ducts. The Eichlers in particular drive a lot of ductless and high-velocity work, and I see Lennox mini-splits going into them. The climate is bay-moderated so cooling loads are modest, but the heat pump retrofit demand here is high.

ADRIUM handles HVAC through Bay Area HVAC Service. I am EPA Section 608 Universal certified, we hold CSLB 1136642, and the work starts with a written quote. The $75 diagnostic is waived when you approve the repair. We answer 7 days.

Lennox gives you strong efficiency and a Lennox heat pump suits the electrification push that a lot of Palo Alto owners want. My honest note is the parts side. Lennox runs its proprietary controls and modules through a dealer-restricted channel, so a Lennox-specific board can take longer and cost more than the Carrier or Trane equivalent. On an Eichler retrofit that timeline matters, and I am clear about it before we start.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Eichler ductless retrofit head freezing up. In the Eichlers with no attic, Lennox mini-split heads do the work, and the indoor coil ices when the filter clogs or the charge drifts. I clean the coil, check the filter routine and verify the charge, since an iced head usually traces to airflow or a slow leak.
  • iComfort thermostat incompatibility on older boards. When Palo Alto owners upgrade to an iComfort head on an older Lennox air handler, the communication board mismatch leaves the system throwing faults. I check board revisions and firmware before swapping anything, because the fix is often a firmware match rather than new hardware.
  • XP heat pump losing capacity on low charge. The XP heat pumps lose heating capacity when the charge drops just slightly, common after a few years on a retrofit line set. I leak-check the line set and joints, repair the leak and recharge to spec rather than just topping it off.

FAQ

Lennox in Palo Alto questions, answered.

  • How long does it take you to get to Palo Alto from San Ramon
From San Ramon I head down 680 to 84 over the Dumbarton, or 880 depending on traffic, about 40 to 55 minutes since it crosses the bay. Palo Alto neighbors Atherton, Los Altos Hills and Saratoga, which we cover, so I group Peninsula and South Bay calls to make the drive efficient.
  • I have an Eichler with no attic. Can I get a Lennox heat pump
Yes. An Eichler is a good fit for a ductless Lennox mini-split since there is no attic for conventional ducts. We can do single or multi-head and keep the line sets discreet against the flat roof lines.
  • Will you put the quote in writing first
Always. I diagnose, write out the parts and labor, and you approve the number before work. The $75 diagnostic comes off it when you proceed.
