- Draft inducer wear in the foggy hillside homes. Up in Westborough and Buri Buri, the fog rolls in overnight and settles into furnace closets that do not get much airflow. Moisture works into the draft inducer motor on a Goodman furnace over the years, and the motor starts slow or hums before it fails to spin at all, which trips the furnace on a safety lockout.
