- Goodman mini-split with moisture in the line from a bad vacuum. On Eichler and bungalow ductless retrofits, I see Goodman mini-splits that were never evacuated properly. Moisture in the line freezes at the metering device and the unit cools in spurts. We recover, pull a deep vacuum, and recharge to weight.
- Reversing valve stuck on a Goodman heat pump. In heat pump mode the reversing valve sometimes hangs between heating and cooling, so you get lukewarm air either way. We energize the solenoid and check the valve. On Goodman the part is reasonable, so the repair does not break the budget.
- Condensate overflow on closet-mounted Goodman air handlers. The newer Mountain View condos put Goodman air handlers in tight closets, and the condensate drain clogs and trips the float switch, killing cooling. We clear the drain, flush the pan, and test the safety switch so it does not nuisance trip again.
