- Heat pump performance issues on the cooler west side. On the bay-cooled Ardenwood side, Goodman heat pumps run gentle cooling but plenty of mild heating, and a weak defrost cycle or low charge shows up first in winter. I check the defrost board and the charge before anything bigger.
- Condenser capacitor failure on the warmer east side. Toward Warm Springs and Mission the summers run hotter, and the Goodman condenser capacitor cooks on long cycles. The unit will not start on a hot afternoon. I replace the cap and check the contactor at the same visit.
- Wall-furnace to central conversion airflow problems. Older Niles bungalows converting from a wall furnace to a central Goodman system sometimes get ducts that are too small. Rooms stay uneven. I measure static pressure and duct sizing so the new system actually delivers.
