Bryant in Vallejo
Bryant heating and cooling in Vallejo.
Vallejo's climate is shaped by the bay, and it can average about 10 degrees cooler than nearby inland cities. In a Vallejo house the Bryant furnace or heat pump carries more of the year than the air conditioning does, so the heating side is where wear piles up: igniters, flame sensors, inducer motors and, on the 90%-plus condensing furnaces, the condensate trap and drain.
The housing ranges from the Victorian and Craftsman homes downtown to Glen Cove's 1980s and 1990s houses along the Carquinez Strait and the Hiddenbrooke community off Interstate 80. Vallejo calls are handled by our technician next door in Benicia. The $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair, and nothing is replaced until you approve a written quote. ADRIUM holds EPA 608 Universal certification. CSLB #1136642.

Common repairs we handle.
- Condensing furnace locking out on a blocked drain. A 90%-plus Bryant furnace makes water as it burns, and that water leaves through a trap and a drain line. When the trap clogs, water backs into the inducer housing, the pressure switch never closes and the furnace locks out after a few tries. We clean the trap and the line, check the pressure switch hoses and run a full heating cycle.
- Heat pump defrost not clearing the outdoor coil. On a Bryant heat pump the outdoor coil frosts in heat mode on chilly mornings, and a defrost cycle clears it. A failed defrost board, sensor or reversing valve lets ice build until the house stops warming. We test each piece in turn and watch a complete defrost before we leave.
- Burners light and then shut off. When the burners light for a few seconds and drop out, the flame sensor is often coated and the control cannot confirm the flame. We clean or replace the sensor, check the ground and the gas pressure, and run several cycles to be sure the fix holds.

FAQ
Bryant in Vallejo questions, answered.
-
Why does our Bryant furnace try to start three times and then quit?
That is a lockout. The control tries a set number of times, and if the pressure switch, igniter or flame sensor does not check out, it stops for safety. The blinking light on the control board tells us where to start. Turn the power off and on once; if it locks out again, call us. -
We hardly run the AC in Vallejo. Should the yearly check focus on the furnace?
Mostly, yes. A fall check covers the igniter, flame sensor, inducer, pressure switch, condensate drain and a look at the heat exchanger. We still look over the outdoor unit so it is ready for the few warm days. -
Does a Bryant heat pump make sense in a Hiddenbrooke house that has a gas furnace?
A dual-fuel setup can: the heat pump handles mild days and the gas furnace takes over when it gets cold. In Vallejo's climate the heat pump would carry most of the load. We look at the furnace, the ducts and the electrical service before recommending anything.
